MP TO MEET MINISTER ON SHENE ACADEMY

12.46.04pm GMT Fri 23rd Jan 2009

Susan Kramer MP is to meet Schools Minister Jim Knight to discuss the plans for an academy at Shene School.

The Minister needs to sign the formal Expression of Interest for the academy for the plans to progress to the next stage.

Susan Kramer MP commented:

"I will be asking Jim Knight to give us some clarity about where we are with the Expression of Interest for Shene School."

"Parents need to be able to make clear decisions about their children's future, and the confusion from the Government is not helpful."

"I want to see a clear timetable put in place, starting with the approval of the Expression of Interest from the Government, so that the local community knows what the next steps are."
