LOCAL MP BACKS CALL FOR NEW PRIMARY SCHOOL FOR NORTH KINGSTON5.10.41pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 30th Jun 2009 Susan Kramer, MP for Richmond Park and North Kingston is supporting local people's preference for a new primary school for North Kingston. The MP was responding to views expressed by local residents as part of the Royal Borough of Kingston's consultation on expansion of primary school places. Susan Kramer, MP for Richmond Park and North Kingston commented: "I attended the consultation meeting at the Hawker Centre as part of this consultation process. "It was clear that many people were dissatisfied with the consultation, and wanted to see a much fuller discussion on the issue of primary school expansion. I am calling on the Council to take these concerns on board, and keep parents involved in every aspect of this process. "The responses show that there is strong support for a new primary school for the North Kingston area, not the expansion of existing ones. "Despite the shortage of potential sites for a school in this area, the Council must listen to the views of parents. Please do also come forward with suggestions about possible sites." "The battle will now be to get money from central Government to fund the expansion of places that we so desperately need." Related Link:
